Home Remedies For Skin Boils For years people have used garlic and onion compress successfully to treat boils. To make this compress: Use a juicer or garlic presser to extract the juice from 1-3 cloves of garlic. Apply this juice to the head (only) of the boil and cover the boil loosely with a band-Aid. Check the boil frequently until it starts to soften and can be easily removed with a wash cloth and warm water. Be careful as the garlic can burn the skin….so it’s important to only apply it to the head of the boil and check it often. If it begins to burn, remove the band-Aid and rinse well. You can also do this with an onion. Add a few drops of juice from an onion onto the head (only) of the boil. Keep covered and check often until it softens. For even faster results, you can combine the onion and garlic juice together and apply to the boil. Ground up turmeric powder is also helpful when treating boils. Simply add a small amount of water to the turmeric powder and blend until you have a paste. Apply this paste to the whole boil and surrounding area and cover with a band-aid. Leave this paste on until the boil becomes soft and can be easily removed with a wash cloth and warm water.
