Manic Depression or Bipolar Disorder is considered one of the worst types of depression that people usually suffer from. Characterized by sudden and extreme changes in mood. Manic depression is called that because manic refers to ‘mania’, which refers to the ‘ups’ while depression refers to the ‘downs’. Bi-polar also refers to both ends of the spectrum of emotions
Many people experience erratic changes in their moods and, sometimes, these so-called mood swings are not just caused by PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) or stress. Doctors have diagnosed mood swings as a common symptom of depression, when these mood swings become extreme. For example, if someone becomes annoyed because a shop does not have his favourite biscuits, it may just a sign of a spoilt childhood, but when getting annoyed means that person will shout and swear at the shop keeper, it may be the start of Manic Depression.
The ‘manic’ periods or ‘ups’ in Manic Depression (or Bi-polar Disorder) are described as the times when a person who has Manic Depression experiences excessively high periods, consisting of heightened energy, sudden outbursts of euphoric mood, extreme irritability, together with racing thoughts and aggressive behaviour. According to doctors, someone suffering from Manic Depression may have these so-called manic ‘periods’ not just for a day or so, they can actually go on for a week or more.
During the ‘low’ or ‘down’ periods, people suffering from Manic Depression may experience very similar symptoms to those who are suffering from ‘normal’ depression. People who are suffering from Manic Depression experience periods of a depressed state of mind - including feelings of lack of self worth and being unloved.
There are various other symptoms too: irrational guilt, extreme sadness, anxiety attacks, feeling of not belonging, extreme gloom and an obvious loss of pleasure. According to therapists, someone who is depressed continuously for more than a week can officially be diagnosed as someone who is suffering from Manic Depression.
Although it is one of the most common and severe types of depressive disorder, Manic Depression can be successfully treated, according to doctors. There’s no reason to worry too much about having it. You just need to follow the procedures that the therapist tells you and take the prescribed medication in the proper dosage in order to help you (or your friend or love one) overcome Manic Depression before it is too late.
Also, people who suffer from Manic Depression should consult their therapists on a regular basis, so as to be able to release their pent up emotions to someone who can understand just what it is they are going through a lot better than an untrained person.
Although positive results for Manic Depression can be obtained from natural alternatives, a proper and a more lasting relief from Manic Depressive symptoms can best be acquired through seeing a cognitive behaviour therapist. Contrary to some beliefs, when it comes to psychiatric treatments, psychiatrists, preferably cognitive behaviour therapists are still the best ones to visit for a lasting cure for Manic Depression.

It is because anger management is a huge problem in society today, there have been many programs developed, books written, Internet websites created and anger management movies filmed. Although all of this help is in place and available for anyone, not all people with anger issues benefit from the same type of resource. For some people attending an anger mangement program may be effective and cause major changes in their behaviour.
Being able to get away alone with a book may be helpful to a person with anger management issues. Seeing their problems in print and being able to sift through them in their mind might be one of the great anger management resources. The Internet is a great resource regarding anger mangement and some may find it helpful to view the different websites and read stories about individuals who have anger mangement issues. However, for many people who have difficulties controlling their anger, watching an anger management movie might be what is needed to break them out of their behaviour of angry, emotional outbursts.
Watching an anger management movie would allow the individual the chance to actually see, with their own eyes and hear with their own ears, just what anger does to a person and those around them. An anger management movie would likely provide illustrations and situations where individuals act on their anger. The movie may apply exactly to an individual’s current circumstance. It may hit home - so to speak. Watching the actors play out their life story and their behaviour may be an eye-opener. It may take watching a husband abuse a child or wife, a mother attacking her kid, a child bullying another child, to realize that anger is a significant problem.
When an angry person is in that situation- ie really angry, he is likely to blame it on whoever gets in the way. But being an actor in his own picture, he is incapable of watching his own performance. However, if they given the opportunity of seeing it on the silver screen, he might be surprised and even devastated by his actions. Watching an anger manageent film would probably be like watching yourself in a similar situation. This may be the method that works best for some individuals.
An anger management movie will not only give illustrations of the actual situations involving anger. The movie will likely provide information regarding anger management techniques. Using these techniques and the characters in the movie, it is likely that there would be scenes of people being introduced to anger management techniques and programmes.
The film would explain the steps to dealing with anger and frustration issues. This type of anger mangement movie might be the answer to a lot of people’s problems. It would seem a good idea if the anger mangement movie showed the person, in the same situation as the sufferer, change from the first scene in the film to the last scene. Showing how the individual was able to receive help through anger management and turn his life around, may just be the incentive he needed.
No doubt, there are all sorts of anger management movie available. The Internet is a great source of information regarding anger management and anger management resources such as books and anger mangagement movies. If you think you or someone you know would benefit from watching an anger management movie, it would be a wise idea to get your hands on one.

Many people who burn the candle at both ends, use up not only all their physical strength, but they also tend to over-extend their mental powers to the point where they plainly need a proper holiday.
Many busy people who are unable to understand the idea of relaxing and taking time of from work, as well as from their worries, have nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses that cause a person’s mental health to go haywire. Luckily, if you are one of those people who is incapable of relaxing and who is constantly worrying and fussing over things, there are several cures and remedies available for helping you deal with anxiety depression.

Furthermore, a lot of people who tend to get quickly anxious in stressful situations are actually prone to having anxiety depression. It is actually a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing problematic and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to do at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what will prevent your mental health from going into a downward spiral.
When it comes to effectively curing oneself of a mental illness, one must keep in mind that one has to be honest with oneself and assess what kind of depression or mental illness one actually has. Go to a reputable psychiatrist to get yourself diagnosed correctly as well to get the right depression treatment. Here are the various types of depression:
Manic or Bipolar depression - characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one’s mood where one minute the sufferer is in an elevated state of euphoria while the next minute (day or week) the sufferer is in a personal hell.
Postpartum depression - is characterized by lengthy periods of sadness and a feeling of emptiness in a new mother where physical stress during child birth and / or an undefined sense of responsibility towards the new born baby are just some of the possible reasons why some new mothers go through this illness.
Dysthimia - characterized by a slight similarity with bipolar depression, although in this case, it has been seen to be a lot less severe. However, any case of depression should be treated immediately.
Cyclothemia - is recognizable by a similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness may occasionally suffer from severe mood swings.

Studies, however, prove that more people become depressed during the Winter and Fall seasons and lastly, mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in just a short period of time.
But the type of depression that has actually been proven to be most common among people is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized by the state of being overly anxious about things. Anxiety is a normal behaviour that’ll actually help a person cope more with certain stressful activities like a first date or a gruelling exam the following day. Anxiety actually helps you get psyched up towards facing certain “difficult situations”; anxiety therefore is actually a good thing.
Anxiety depression however, is just the opposite, but it should not be dismissed as a “case of the nerves”. Anxiety depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological make-up of an individual, or in other words, it can be an hereditary illness.
Furthermore, there are actually several sorts of anxiety depression too. Each kind has its own unique characteristics. Take for instance Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD. This kind of anxiety depression is a lot more complicated than the average anxiety depression, in spite of it possibly being a daily problem for those who suffer from this anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual a lot more paranoid than usual. Anxiety attacks are much more frequent, even absurdly so at times.
Suffers can get anxious even when there is no real reason for them to behave in that manner. Those people suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder often show a lot of symptoms varying from from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, becoming tired easily, inability to concentrate and suffering from depression. This kind of anxiety depression is also curable however.
Consult a reputable cognitive behavioural therapist who will give you the therapy that you need to help you loosen up. Furthermore, prescribed medicines are a must to help sufferers combat anxiety attacks, help them calm down and help them relax.

First, let’s take a look at the symptoms. Do you feel like you are going out of your mind? Do you shout in your head: ‘I cannot take it any more?’. Do you feel like someone is out to get you? Do you think people see you as a crazy person? If you are suffering from any or all of these symptoms or thoughts then you are probably suffering from anxiety and depression.
If you can not find a way to think in a different mode~way, then you will probably explode when your emotions start to soar and your anger bursts forth. Instead of telling yourself that you are going mad, why not tell yourself that you are only having a temporary emotional problem and that you need to solve the problem. Review all the problem areas carefully and search your memory to see if there are answers to your problems there. Reviewing like this, often opens doors to resources you may have overlooked.
If you feel like someone is out to get you then you might have a chemical imbalance or a mental illness. Why not go to see your doctor or a mental health expert to learn more about the symptoms and find a way to regain control of your life. Anxiety and depression can play tricks with your mind but sometimes the thoughts are the result of a chemical imbalance.
If you think that people think you are goingcrazy, you might care to remember that most people have their own problems and have no time to analyze you as a person or your life. When you walk into a room and think that people are staring at you, you might want to remember that people observe things around them, making sure everything is OK and then return to their own private lives.
If you feel like you cannot take it any longer, pick up your knapsack and walk another mile. When times are difficult, it does not mean it is the end of the world, although sometimes it may seem this way. If you are struggling to pay bills, fighting to hold a family together, or having problems with your kids then remember we all have these problems at some time in our lives.
Are your children driving you out of your mind? If they are, take time out. Go and do something entertaining or some exercise. This very often relieves the stresses that lead to anxiety, depression and anger. Life is just too short to worry about the things in life that you do not have control over. If you have problems, the answers lie within you, so it pays to look into your head.
If you are really struggling to reach your goals then you might want to break them down into smaller more realistic segments and work patiently to achieve them. If you set goals that are within reason, you will not need to get stressed outfinding a way to achieve them.
It is important to pamper yourself each day. Learn some coping techniques that will benefit both your mind and your body. If you feel snowed under, you might want to take deep breaths ten times.
Curling up on a couch and watching a favorite movie can benefit your mind and yourbody, if you want to let your thoughts wander. However, learn to focus on what you are doing instead of worrying about what you are not doing. This often clears the mind and helps you to relax.
If you are subject to unbridled anger, you will most probably have problems for the remainder of your life unless you learn to master your emotions. Remember that depression leads to uncontrollable anger.
