3 Maybe 4 Ways To Make A Wedding Gift Easier To Choose

Friday, February 19th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

I suppose we all have preconceived ideas and emotions when it comes to planning a wedding, especially when it’s yours. It’s a whole different world from having a boyfriend even if you’ve been seeing each other for years, even if you’ve been living together. The dynamics change and there are bound to be feelings of anticipation, some anxiety, and of course the desire for everything to be “perfect.”

During all the pre-wedding planning and jitters, you may feel a little nervous about letting your friends know what you would like in the way of gifts. It’s easier for and with family. They are more inclined to come right out and ask you, or know you well enough to get you something you’ll like and enjoying using and/or just having around. Most people like to give gifts: they have fun trying to figure out what would be “right.” Then there are some who get frustrated trying to decide what to get and this is where you can be helpful. You can do the traditional thing and register at a department store or specialty store that carries the china, the silverware, the place settings, linens and so on that you like and will use. That way you kind of narrow the “guessing” of gifts down some, and your guests won’t have to be concerned about whether or not you are going to like their gifts.

Now, while choosing which stores to register with you also have to consider what you want and the price ranges of items. Some people can afford to spend more than others, but in either case you don’t want to out-price yourself. For your friends and family who can afford to spend more, they can use your store registry as a reference and go elsewhere, perhaps somewhere more costly, and get you a comparable but more personalized gift. Mind you, before you do this, you should sit with you fiance and discuss what you might need and what you would like in the way of gifts. It makes your choosing the stores easier too. It’s also a good idea to choose stores that are conveniently located.

Your list should vary: it can be more specific as far as linens, cutlery, china etc; and it can be more generalized when it comes to hobby-type, sports-type, fun stuff. You can get a registry at a novelty type store so if a friend checks it out they will get a “surprise me” response. If they know you well enough, you should be delighted with their choice. Also, with the ease and wider range of gifts selections on-line, it would be very smart to choose stores that accommodate on-line registries.

Another helpful remedy to wedding gift blues is having sisters, brothers, and best friends pass the words along as to what you would like - obviously through casual conversations you’ve had with them while you were discussing and going a bit crazy planning your wedding. These “wedding gift messengers” of yours can be a big help if a guest wants to have a gift monogrammed or otherwise personalized.

Doing this for your guests helps them and actually helps you as well. They feel good about the gift they give you, and you know you will enjoy and get good use out of their respective gifts. And, with the “surprise me” gifts you will probably get some great laughs, big smiles, and appreciate the non-conformist limb they went out on to surprise you.

Gifts are just that … gifts. They are given with thoughtfulness, with love, and for the sheer pleasure of giving. Enjoy your friends: enjoy your gifts: enjoy the beginning of the rest of your life.

Screen Printing Tshirts So You Can Use As A Corporate Gift

Friday, February 19th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

Printing is a process of producing pictures and text, commonly using ink, paper and a printing press. Over time, printing technology has improved significantly. Various techniques are available, but screen-printing is used most of the time.

Screen-printing, also referred to as silk screening, is a method that is best for surfaces that are comparatively flat. In this process, fine mesh or a screen is tightly stretched over a rigid frame, with the screen masking areas which will not be printed. In order to make a print, the screen is placed atop the item that is to be printed; then a blob of thick ink is applied. Next the ink is pressed through the screen with the assistance of a squeegee. The ink clings to the unmasked area, thereby creating the print, and the masked area is protected from ink incursion. After this, the printed item goes through a heated tunnel that dries the ink so that items can be stacked or put into packages.

When more than one color is involved, the process is repeated, utilizing different screens. So, four screens would be necessary for a four-color print; they can be placed on a rotary press or done by hand, allowing each color to print in its proper place.

There are diverse methods of masking a screen. The easiest thing to do is to apply masking fluid right onto the screen. This process works very well for two-color graphics, while a photosensitive emulsion procedure is utilized for jobs involving multiple colors.

Screen-printed T-shirts using plastic inks are often stiflingly hot if you aren’t sure of what you’re getting as you order. For more subdued and vintage-looking screen-printed apparel, inks with a water base might be preferable. For a bold and heavy printing, application of plastic-based inks using heat might be a wise choice.

A lot of screen printing pros utilize plastic-based inks, since they are gentler on the screen printing gear and are often stronger, more vivid and bold. Inks containing plastic may begin cracking within a brief time. Choosing natural inks creates a more attractive and longer-wearing appearance.

Dress For Your Shape

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

Everyone has a different figure and knowing how to dress to suit your shape can be stressful and time-consuming. First of all, you need to know what kind of shape you have. It can seem difficult to identify which one you are and until you know for certain, you won’t know which clothes are going to suit you, sometimes without you even needing to try them on!

So, here they are. The apple shape, the pear shape, the athletic shape and the hourglass shape. You might already know which one you are off the top of your head, but if you don’t, carry on reading to discover more.

You have slender shoulders, an ample bosom, a tiny waist sloping into curvy hips and finally smoothing into shapely thighs. You’re the shape every woman would ideally like to be - the hourglass. When it comes down to it, all you really have to focus on is accentuating that teeny little waist. Proportion is the key to achieving the perfect silhouette.

You may think yourself unlucky if you have an apple-shape, but this isn’t true at all. Apple-shapes have beautiful, slender legs, allowing you to wear almost any length skirt or dress so long as they aren’t too short - this will result in drawing too much attention to your midsection. Even though you have a smaller bosom and narrower hips, that doesn’t mean you can’t put some emphasise on your waist. Like any shape, all you have to do is thrown a belt around your middle, wear waist-curved fitted shirts or wrap around dresses with embellishments around the bust and hip areas.

If you have a pear-shaped figure you will have a less ample bosom, but a tiny little waist and gorgeous, curvy hips. Your shoulders will be small and elegant and your arms will likely be slender. You’ve probably got shapely pins, too! Balance is still important when dressing a pear-shape. Wider hips will naturally draw the eye, so you have to put your body back in proportion which means drawing more attention to your upper half. Like the hourglass, you’re lucky enough to be able to get away with tighter fitting tops, but choose shirts with embellished busts, deep necklines and empire lines to give the illusion of a bigger bosom. Structured shoulders will help to achieve balance with your wider hips. Try A-line skirts that start around your waist and skim over your hips, wrap around dresses and dark jeans that have a slight flare.

Last, but definitely not least, is the athletic shape. On top of having thin, shapely legs, you have perfectly in proportion shoulders and hips, meaning you can get away with wearing almost any fitted clothing so long as you remember to add the illusion of a waist using a belt or wear a wrap-over dress or shirt. Defining your waist is the key to almost any shape. Skirts that are A-line will skim right over your hips, and wide-leg trousers just beneath or on your waist will help to make you look that bit more curvaceous.

The Sweetest Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Monday, February 15th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

The world once again will get to celebrate a special day. This day is to celebrate the life, sacrifice, meaning and unconditional love of a special person. This day is the coveted Mother’s Day. People around the world celebrate this day in so many different ways. Each person is different thus they have different means of showing their love and gratitude to their mothers. However, no matter which way, all of them are very sweet. They are sweet as special Mother’s Day sweets.

There are people who celebrate Mother’s Day with lots of loved ones and food. Usually, they spend the whole day with their whole family in a picnic or party. Sometimes they also gather their mother’s closest friends. And then for the entire day, there is laughter, fun, love and a selection of scrumptious foods and Mother’s Day sweets. The whole time they would play, chat and eat together.

Others, on the other hand, celebrate Mother’s Day rather quietly. They commonly just opt to celebrate intimately with their mothers through special dinners than have lots of people come over. This is the case especially for those who are the only child of their parents. To celebrate, they normally go to a nice restaurant for dinner. There they enjoy wine, a scrumptious meal, Mother’s Day sweets and so forth.

Those who are living far from their mothers, celebrating Mother’s Day is done in other means instead. There are no dinners at nice restaurants or parties with friends for them. They, however, invite their mothers to spend a few days in their homes. This mean is convenient for those who are especially busy at work. During their mothers’ stay, they celebrate Mother’s Day by spending time together and enjoying things like Mother’s Day sweets.

There are those, however, who just can’t celebrate Mother’s Day no matter how they find a way. These people are stuck in situations that don’t allow them to celebrate with their mothers. These reasons could be inescapable work, travel hindrances, sickness, and others. So, what they do is just send special gifts to their mothers. Commonly, they send Mother’s Day sweets, pretty flowers, jewelries, and more.

Mother’s Day is important for everyone to celebrate. These sweet ways are only some of the things they do to celebrate. For mothers, however, the effort of their children is enough for them to make them happy. More than Mother’s Day sweets, they find the love and care as much sweeter gifts.

Valentine’s Day for Single Girls

Monday, February 15th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

Some people do not like being on their own on St. Valentine’s Day. Younger women in particular feel that being alone on St. Valentine’s Day bears a stigma, which makes them feel dejected and lonely. But just because someone is not in a relationship, it does not mean they cannot have a good time. I will give a couple of tips below to help you have a time to remember.

1] Call up all your single girlfriends and go clubbing. Many young men like to dance every now and again or to their favourite songs, but they do not want to dance non-stop. On the other hand, young women frequently do like to dance non-stop, so you may have a better time without a boyfriend in a club.

2] Another good idea for single girls on Valentine’s Day is to give a movie night at your home. You can invite over all of your single friends and hire a few comedies. Instead of being sad and miserable, you and your friends could watch the movies and take the rise out of the characters in the movie.

Hire a few horror movies too for an extra special night. Lots of young people like horror films. They like to have a scream and hide their faces behind their friends’ backs. Treat the evening like a proper night at the movies and get popcorn, snacks, ice cream and cola, etc in.

3] You could hold a singles party. Invite all of your single friends and tell them they have to bring a friend of the opposite sex. Buy or borrow some of those games that make you answer personal questions like ‘Forfeits’ and ‘Twister’, where you have to put your hands and feet on different coloured spots on a plastic mat.

‘Mr and Mrs’ is another game where you ask one half of a ‘couple’ questions about the other in his absence. He has to corroborate the replies when he is invited back into the room. The answers could be side-splitting, because the contestants will not know each other well.

3] Hire a table in a non-romantic restaurant and get eight or more girlfriends to go out for a meal. Once the atmosphere starts building, it can become great fun and you could go dancing later.

4] You could arrange a visit to the theatre and have a meal afterwards. Most people do not go to the theatre every year, so going with your friends on St. Valentine’s Day would make the day truly unforgettable.

5] You could make up a basket of your favourite things. Include some really special items like gourmet chocolate or other gourmet candy. Get something lavish to drink that is appropriate to your age. Then you can pig out on your favourite foods and drink and watch a few films on your own or with your sister or other family member like a favourite cousin.

There are many things you can do to enjoy Valentine’s Day as a single girl, there’s no need to mope around feeling sorry for yourself at all.

Why Must Companies Give Corporate Gifts?

Sunday, February 14th, 2010
Scentsy | Flameless Candles | Wickless Candles

A company’s success is determined by how it can roll with the punches slugged out by the unsure ecomic situations all over the globe. One important factor to constantly bear in mind in dodging being KO-ed by the economic recession is how to keep clients loyal to the company. Retaining the clients is such a delicate job as these are a classification of people who could withdraw their investments at any given instance. A token — such a corporate gift — goes a long way in preserving the good relationship between a company and their clients.

The receiver of the gift should be an important factor when selecting a corporate gift, as his or her liking the gift is the single most important aim of the whole exercise. The gift may be attached to a promotional undertaking, while unveiling a new product, or simply given at regular intervals to keep the customer in a good spirit.

The gifts could range from coffee mugs, stationery to even a bottle of wine. The gift could be sealed with the company’s logo to ensure that it remains in the memory of the receiver for a long time.

Think about a gift that gives when you are considering about corporate gifts. More and more people are switching to different ways of thinking and want others to gain. Buy1GIVE1, KIVA and Change The Present are organisations that can offer gift value to your customers and staff. Check Buy1GIVE1 out at www.b1g1.com.

However, it is very important to check the quality of the gift because it represents the name and reputation of the company. A substandard gift will only be a futile effort as it won’t be able to convey the gratefulness that the company wants to show to its customers. In a depressed economy where the customers are always searching for better deals elsewhere, it is of even greater importance not to give them any reason to feel upset with your company.

Keeping the present economic scenario in mind, corporate gifts have emerged as a reliable marketing tool. Even though they can behave as a double edged sword if utilized inappropriately, but by exercising a little caution, they can perform miracles for a business in times of recession.
