If your due date has come and gone and you still aren’t holding your little bundle of joy, then I’m sure you have considered ways to induce your labor at home. A lot of moms don’t know that you can safely and naturally induce labor at home if you have reached at least 37 weeks in your pregnancy. You will see the greatest results and have the least amount of risk if you try these methods once your due date has passed. Physicians claim your body will most likely respond to these methods if you are calm and stress-free and the cervix has become ripe. It is important to keep track of your menstrual cycles so that your physician can easily determine your baby’s age. If you know the start date of your last period before becoming pregnant, she can tell you about how far along in the pregnancy you are. Often done during the first visit, a sonogram or ultrasound can also help more accurately determine your baby’s gestational age Keeping track of your pregnancy will help you know when it is safe to begin methods of inducing labor at home. If done too soon, chances are you will see little to no results. You could also be putting your health and your baby’s health at risk. Always consult with your doctor before beginning any at-home techniques of labor induction. Herbal/Homeopathic Labor Induction Making sure your body is relaxed is essential in inducing labor. If under stress, the body will not respond well to any methods you try to bring on contractions or ready the cervix. Mild aromatherapy, soft music, low lighting and meditation will help the body to relax. Some women will even suggest you try visualization techniques to help de-stress. While not a very tasty or popular method, taking castor oil is another way to help induce labor at home. A typical does is 2 tablespoons and can be mixed with food or beverages to help ease it down. Castor oil stimulates the bowels and causes diarrhea, which is said to help stimulate the uterus to contract. A midwife may suggest a combination of plant roots called blue and black cohosh that are said to begin contractions. Cohosh can be obtained from an herbal specialist but have not yet been medically proven to actually start labor. Walking, Nipple Stimulation, and Orgasm Doctors most often recommend walking as a way to start labor naturally. Walking puts pressure on the cervix and rocks the pelvis, allowing the baby to “drop” down toward the birth canal. Nipple stimulation is the act of rubbing or massaging the nipples between two fingers to trigger the release of oxytocin. Oxytocin is a natural female hormone known to stimulate contractions and begin labor. Sex is also often recommended by physicians as a way of naturally starting labor at home. During female orgasm, the uterus may be stimulated to begin contracting. Also, semen contains prostaglandins, hormones that can help ripen the cervix. The longer it stays on the cervix the greater results you will see. Inducing Labor At Home data should be used only after consulting your physician or caregiver. Back ache, lower back pain and neck pain account for millions of lost productivity hours for practically every company in America. Monday morning comes and you can’t get out of bed because you over did the yard work over the weekend and your back feels like someone is sticking hot pins in it. If you have back pains and are just constantly self medicating with over the counter pain killers you are not fixing the problem, you are just stopping or more likely reducing the pain. This may seem like the answer right now, but long term it is not a solution for what can be a debilitating medical condition. Do not leave your back to sort itself out, if you were told you had diabetes you wouldn’t just sit around and hope it gets better you would go and see your Dr and get professional help. Back pain is no different, if you have ongoing pain you must go and see someone who specializes in backs. If your back pain has been going on for more than a day or two and seems to be either not getting any better or possibly even worse then you need to consider seeking expert help. How severe is your pain? There are different levels of pain, having a bit of toothache is different to having a tooth that has snapped in half and has left you with an exposed nerve. Back ache is the same and just like tooth ache we will all have different levels of acceptance for that pain. Changing your eating habits, your exercise habits or the way you sit doesn’t sound like something that would stop your back pain but they are all things that have been known to contribute to peoples back pain. They are also relatively easy things to work on, the end result could be a life free of back pain which has to be worth it. About the Author:

Learn About Aromatherapy

Is it Really a Therapy? Enhancing health and wellness and treating common ailments with the pure essence of plants is aromatherapy. Pure and Quality: Are They the Same? The effectiveness of essential oils is dependent on purity and quality of the oil, so purchase only high grade oils from a reputable aromatherapist. Quality comes from growing climate, soil and harvesting. The oils vary with the location, season and growers. Purity is determined by whether or not contaminants or trash parts have gotten into the essential oil in the handling or extraction. The oil must also be undiluted by rough handling, machines or by being cut by the retailer to boost profits. Large Volume to Get Small Volume The fact that it takes an enormous amount of specific parts of plants to extract even a very small amount of pure oil, makes essential oils - especially those from certain plants, very expensive. Add to this many of the delicate parts must be harvested and separated by hand. It is tremendously labor intensive. This is also why an ounce of essential oil is so very much more potent than an ounce of fresh or dry herb or plant. The oil is the potent part of the plant with all of the bulk waste removed. Consider the Source This is why when you buy oils for aromatherapy, you do not want to buy the cheapest from just anywhere. You do not know what you will be getting, but I can assure you it will not be good. Oils for therapeutic use must come from reputable specialists. You will not find real essential oils at the local discount store, or in their candles and skin care products, and mass produced air fresheners. It requires a great deal of labor intensive care to produce a quality product. The mass media refers to anything with a nice scent as aromatherapy. This is blatantly untrue, so do not be fooled. These products are accurately called fragrance, air freshener or disinfectant. About Chemotype? Essential oils, unlike synthetic scent, are absorbed and utilized by the body. It is more like medication (we call it treatment) than feeling pleased because you like a scent. Essential oils are the potent life essence of plants. It is this essence that houses all of the properties. In food plants you would recognize it as that which contains the vitamins and minerals. That parts which is so easily destroyed by cooking. It is that part that is effective. The Drawbacks of Extracting Chemotypes Occasionally some chemotypes are extracted and put into formulations. Although the chemotypes are the same, the quality and handing is not, and the extraction often negates the overall beneficial effect that is rendered by synergies of all elements and properties within the natural compound. A drop of pure essential oil is composed of a few or several chemotypes. It is the combination that gives it the unique properties. The chemotypes do not have the same effect or effectiveness when isolated and used alone. This is why natural medicine, essential oils and herbs and natural vitamins and minerals are far superior to those synthesized. Science is Good This is not to say that we should shun pharmaceutical products. Science has enabled man to increase potency, duration in the blood stream, timed release, sustained action and to more specifically target actions. Drugs give us more control. They also are far less expensive than natural essences and the quality is standardized to a degree which you cannot with natural products. Essential Oils at Work Holistic Multitasking The healing properties are physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, just as we are. By working on many levels of healing, they provide a means of bringing ourselves back into balance on all levels. Cell Barrier Permeability The oils take effect by entering the bloodstream and thus the cells of the body, affecting tissues, organ systems and the nervous system. Whether inhaled, imbibed, or absorbed transdermally, they go into the body and blood and the molecules are small enough to pass the blood brain barrier, thus affecting our mind, moods and emotions. It is in this way that certain oils may act as anti-depressants, euphorics, sedatives or stimulants. Other oils can help balance the hormones, or act as aphrodisiacs by balancing hormones or mimicking pheromones. How are Essential Oils Used? Professional Uses All forms of massage and bodywork are greatly enhanced by the use of essential oils. They enhance the experience for the clients and enable the therapist to do more effective work with less strain. Benefits of Essential Oils in Massage pain relief muscle relaxation increased circulation mental relaxation reduction of inflammation Cleanse the lymph Cleansing -detoxification Toning organ systems Breaking down scar tissue Help break down fatty deposits Relieve ki blockages Aromatherapy for Home Use Aromatherapy in the home is a wonderful way to care for yourself and your family. Use essential oils in real aromatherapy candles and incense (no synthetics). Treat yourself with aromatherapy body oils, lotions, body spray and bath salts. Tension will melt away. Essential Oil Synergies Synergies are aromatherapy blends. The chemotypes of essential oils are like chemicals, (they are natural chemicals) combining with each other to create a new effect. They can also enhance, strengthen, buffer or reduce the effect of each other. Essential oil blends can be made to address any purpose through synergistic combinations. Blends You Can Make at Home You can create your own blends at home. Experiment with scents to find what combinations you like. Make yourself aromas for your rooms, to lift your mood, to relax, for your bath. Aromatherapy is sage and enjoyable. Resources on this Site You will find many good recipes and much information here on this site. If you need more help, you need an aromatherapist or a good aromatherapy book, just ask the Alchemist here on this site or on the Health and Wellness Blog. If you want some information added to this site, just let me know. There is also a place for you to add your aromatherapy success stories and recipes. http://www.alchemistsroom.us/aromatherapy-recipes-share.php Alchemy by The Alchemist I created the following categories for my blends. The last category is a product that is my own unique creation. The second contains a line of blends to be used with the Tarot. 1. Therapeutic Blends 2. Meditation Blends 3. Therapeutic Perfumes. Therapeutic Blends These are “medicinal,” they are treatments, to address a specific need, illness or problem. Meditation Blends It is easy to see how the exquisite scents of the aromatherapy oils can transport us and assist us in reaching a meditative estate. Once on our journey, the choice of blend can help us to invoke the wisdom and spirit attitude we are trying to achieve. Churches and temples have long values essential oils for this purpose, using the potent incenses in the services. The essences were thought to be magical. Aromatherapy of the Tarot I have been reading tarot since I was a teen and combined with some study in various tarot and mysticism, I developed a line of blends used for tarot, personal growth using tarot and mediation. I call the Tarot Oils or Aromatherapy of the Tarot. They are effective for personal and spiritual growth and for overcoming emotional obstacles. How to Use Meditation Blends Use mediation essential oils in diffusers, incense or in small vials for inhalation, mists, or dab a small amount on Chakra centers. They are great for enhancing and focusing energy work. You will find that you are drawn to the one that you need when you need it. You may be working on more than one at any given time. Use these for growth, as you meditate or just for enjoyment. They will support you no matter how you use them. Therapeutic Perfumes If you are going to use perfume, why not let it give a boost to your health. Not only can real essential oils benefit you, but they also do not add those irritating toxins that so many people are sensitive to. All real perfume is made with essential oils, but you get to choose from a wider range of oils for specific therapeutic effect when you make your own. While gong about your day smelling great you could be controlling your appetite, balancing hormones, keeping bugs away, and strengthening your immune system or more. Common Sense Use These oils and blends are all natural and so are not FDA approved. These are not medicines. They are very helpful though for helping us to regain our natural balance and for helping with ailments and aches. * IMPORTANT: Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not drink oils. Avoid contact with eyes. Not for nursing or pregnant women or those with seizure disorders. Choose oils carefully with blood pressure problems. If in doubt, consult a certified clinical aromatherapist such as The Alchemist. Keep closed and out of sunlight and heat. Should I do a Book? I am constantly being asked for the recipes to my special blends. Until this site, I did not give out my secret formulas. Perhaps I will just put them in a book - the truth shall unfold. Top Tips To Natural Healing At Home

Most of us have been taught to curse our physical symptoms and to get rid of them through surgery or medication or to deny or cope with them. Doing this sends messages to ourselves that say “You’re not important.” or “This organ or breast isn’t needed.” We tell ourselves we don’t have time to feel, grieve or heal naturally. However, if we can see our first symptoms as inherent messengers, we can learn natural remedies to prevent many of our health-related issues. Our bodies tell the truth. We can learn how our emotions manifest as physical challenges. When you look at yourself in the mirror, you may recognise that your own emotional pain as a “physical art form,” and that it will transform before you and your body will heal a devastating disease. Personally and by the age of 35, I felt comfortable in my new clothes, home and car. Many different companies hired me to help them with their business problems, and I would normally work at least 14 hours a day. However, one day came and it was all over. I was with a medical specialist who diagnosed me with rosacea - an incurable, deforming, disfiguring facial skin disease. By treating myself as a machine that would continue non-stop had caught up with me. I would see no mercy from the disease as it continued to worsen over the next 5 years. All of my financial resources were spent going to medical specialists and naturopathic practitioners - I wanted to understand how my own immune system could heal and repair my own body. I believed in the body being in its own environment and chose not to take any form of medication. After I had spoken to over fifty doctors, I still found myself searching for the answers. I became determined in proving that there was something that could help me heal myself naturally, but after all this time I maybe doubted myself. Once I had progressed into my 40’s, I could see my skin was worse, it was red and inflamed, and I had daily boils. I also found that the sight in my eyes was going and was unable to read drive and watch tv all that well either. Obviously, this had a significant impact on the plans and dreams I had in my life. I would come to realise and think, mostly when I was alone, that I sympathised with people who had taken their own lives because of the pain. After this, I met a Chinese doctor who gave me a diagnosis that was different from all of the other physicians. He said that the disease wasn’t just in my face, but it was concerned with the natural biological rhythms of my body not being in harmony - and this resulted in my face being directly affected because of the emotional fear and stress. This doctor also saw other symptoms of exhaustion through other indicators when he examined me. He said that my body felt lifeless and frail, and that I must find peace at whatever price. I was happy that there was a different opinion. I started emotional therapy, first addressing the fears that had consumed me since my diagnoses, and then going further back into my past. I began to face my work addiction (workaholic: one who works often while physically exhausted and emotionally empty.) Denying stress and personal needs had become a way of life. My false feeling of worthiness and internal need to always be needed had pushed this addiction forward. I had a compulsion to stay busy and numb out, serving out of exhaustion had caused me to feel angry and resentful at my own behavior. I had served others for years at my own expense until my body as my friend stopped me. After sharing my story for over a year, after crying and trying to release pent-up emotions and an addiction to work in the local community I came across a miracle. I healed physically without scars and the sight in my eyes returned to normal. I had been on a healthy diet and exercise regularly for years which helped my body in the transformation. It was a program that I had worked out for myself that helped my body heal naturally and I did not have to take medications. About the Author:
Sandra has been through a difficult time over the past few years looking at how to heal myself naturally and believes that she has achieved some different milestones. Also, she understands that natural healing solutions could be the way to progress in the future.

A good scent reminds us of positive experiences, positive feelings and promotes a healthy disposition. Aromatheraphy involves the use of essential oils to promote that experience and achieve physical and mental nirvana. All natural aromatheraphy oils are known for their profound stimulation effects on the human senses. They calm the nerves, reduce stress and make us positively aware of our surroundings.Aromatherapy has been in use since ancient times. It is believed to be in wide use in ancient Egypt and in ancient China and its popularity in these countries continue until this day. Derived as by-products of selected plants, the oils are an extraction from select parts of the plant - the stems, seed, roots, petals, etc. The oils are then diffused and absorbed through inhalation and through absorbtion by the skin. These oils are characterised as clear without the greasy feeling. Most of these are mixed with a carrier substance usually another oil from other plants like grape see or almond. How do you store these oils? Care must be exercised in their storage. Keep them in dark, air-tight, glass bottles away from exposure to heat or extreme temperature fluctuations. Handle with great respect and responsibility because these are concentrated oils. Keep them out of the reach of children. As you can see, aromatherapy has a very rich history. Its practice extends to the farthest reaches of the globe and its popularity transcends all cultures. No wonder it still being practiced by many people in many countries around the world. Buy or Make your own? If you intend to make your own, gather as much information as you can. Use the internet but make sure your sources are legit. Check the product first with your merchant. The disadvantage of buying your own is you have to find the right mix that suits you best.
