While most people adore using Internet Marketing since it gives them so many diverse possibilities, it is also still important to recognize that there are lots of people who don’t work in this industry and view it with very critical eyes. There are many rumors and misconceptions in existence about IM as well as the whole internet. The people who operate within it know and understand how great it is but it still posess a unique challenge: do you want to be judged for it in your “regular” life?

Many folks who perform in the field of Internet Marketing do so under a pseudonym. They utilize fake names because they want to keep their Internet Marketing work apart from the rest that they do, particularly when they only do the work part time. Many newer and part time Internet Marketers are concerned about being identified by their employers and family or friends. Of course, even if you don’t worry about this type of thing, it will be an important question: do you need to use a pseudonym for your online work?

There are a lot of advantages to using a pseudonym. The most significant benefit, of course, is being able to generate an identity separate from your personal life and making it easier to keep the two from running into them. If you perform in a field not online in which a professional profile is critical and people view the internet as something less than worthy, using a pseudonym helps to protect you from prying eyes on both sides of the field.

IMers are also more likely to use pseudonyms whenever they would like to sell products in different niches. This way they are able to make expert and niche identities for themselves that provide credibility to their businesses without having to worry about looking like a dabbler. You wont have to concern yourself with someone saying but dont you also sell to a conflicting market? because youll be doing so under a different name.

Unfortunately, though, on the list of bigger reasons that people do Internet Marketing business with a pseudonym is because they want to evade their tax responsibilities. If none of the enterprise is executed under their lawful name, then they believe that they shouldnt have to worry about the money they make being reported to the IRS. Do not fall for this kind of logic. Even while you earn money under a name that is not your own it is still viewed as income and you will be held responsible for it. Further, the IRS will find youpeople whom aim to cheat the system generally get found out.

Whether or not you choose to use a pseudonym for the business you are doing is absolutely your choice. For a number of people it is simply easier to have one name for their real world life and another for their on the internet life. For other folks keeping almost everything under the same name is actually easier because it means they have fewer things to remember.
